Course Description

This creative technology program introduces students to the exciting world of 3D design and additive manufacturing using safe, child-friendly 3D printing pens. Students will design and build their own toys and artifacts such as boomerangs, decorative artwork, simple furniture prototypes, and functional models like sundials.

Through hands-on activities, children will learn how objects are created layer by layer, gaining an early understanding of additive manufacturing—its advantages, limitations, and real-world applications. The course emphasizes creativity, imagination, and experimentation while introducing basic design principles, including shape, balance, structural strength, and efficient use of materials.

Rather than memorizing technical terms, students learn by making, testing, improving, and showcasing their creations. The program ends with a fun show-and-tell session, where students present their favorite designs.

In The AI Game Creator: Coding Fun with Scratch, children will dive into the exciting world of game design, animation, and artificial intelligence. Using Scratch’s visual block coding, students will learn core programming concepts such as X and Y coordinates, loops, variables, functions, if-then-else statements, clones, operators, and randomization while building their own interactive video games.

Campers will bring their games to life with custom animations, sound effects, and music, then enhance them using AI-generated images, characters, and voices. As they design challenges, code reactions, and fine-tune gameplay, students will develop logic, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

This camp turns coding into a playground for imagination, where every child becomes both a game designer and AI innovator.

What Children Would Learn
• Basic game design using Scratch’s block coding
• Key programming concepts like loops, variables, and conditionals
• How to animate characters with custom sounds and visuals
• How to use AI to create images, characters, and voices
• Logic and problem-solving through coding challenges
• How to build and refine their own interactive games

The objective of this class is to introduce students to 3D printing technology while emphasizing the significance of good design principles.

Students will use 3D printing pens to design interesting objects, parts, and artwork while learning about additive manufacturing technology, its pros and cons as compared to traditional manufacturing methods.

Attention will be drawn to key design considerations related to aesthetics, structural stability, materials optimization, aspect ratio, ease of use, and functionality.

Students will be given specific themes to create their own designs before actually making those by using a 3D pen.

What Children Would Learn
Difference between additive and subtractive manufacturing

Advantages and disadvantages of 3D printing over traditional manufacturing methods

Design considerations related to:-

Aesthetics

Structural Stability

Materials Optimization

Aspect Ratio

Ease of Use

Functionality
